What is the definition of preposition?

We know that there are many words in English.When these words are used in sentences,they are called parts of speech.We also know that there are eight parts of speech in English.A preposition  is one of those parts of speech.

● A  preposition is a part of speech that makes relationship between a noun with another part of speech.

●He is going to market.

Here "to" is an example of a preposition as it is making relationship between the noun "market" and verb "going".

●He as a student is not good.

Here "as" is an example of a preposition because it is making relationship between the noun "student" and pronoun "He".

●He is good at chemistry.

Here "at" is an example of a preposition because it is making relationship between the noun "chemistry" and adjective "good."

●It is  the best place of that area.

Here "of" is an example of a preposition because it is making relationship between the noun "area" and noun "place."
